
The cover and servo can be accessed from underneath your vehicle without removing the transmission and without dropping the pan. It's right behind the dipstick filler tube. The 2-4 servo assembly is located behind the big round cover, on the right side of your transmission towards the front. It's highly recommended for work trucks, tow rigs, RV's and 4x4 trucks and is a must have for any performance application. Anyone with a V8 engine application will benefit from this item. A firmer 1-2 upshift, as well as a better 2-3 upshift and 3-2 downshift. This will reduce heat in your transmission and increase it's durability. It applies the 2-4 band faster, and holds the band tighter to the reverse drum. Extra fluid holds the band tighter against the drum for increased gear-holding power and reduced band slippage. The larger surface area allows more transmission fluid to push against it in 2nd gear. Our Corvette high performance second gear servo piston has a larger surface area than a stock sized servo piston.

This servo is easy to install if you have some basic mechanical skills and hand tools. Terms, and an assembly diagram are NOW included with this item. They work together, so it's just smart to replace them together! Complete 3 page instructions written in L. The band will drag on the drum, and you'll have the same problems as using a weak spring. When this happens, the servo pin release spring has nothing to push against and your 2-4 band won't disengage. Occasionally they get so weak, they can pop off the pin under normal driving conditions. Your original E-clip will also be fatigued. It's much cheaper and easier to change the spring now, than to burn your band, lose 2nd & 4th gear, damage the reverse drum, and having to pull / rebuild your transmission later! 1 x New E-clip for the servo pin. You should ALWAYS install a new spring with a servo upgrade, or during a complete trans rebuild. If you don't install a new one, your band can drag (not release like it's supposed to) on the 4-3 downshifts causing it to burn up prematurely. Your original spring will be fatigued and weak because of the normal driving / shifting cycles and high mileage.
